Kate Good explains fish farming and the impact on fish and the environment at FishFeel.org. Originally published at OneGreenPlanet.org.
Fish Feel is the first organization devoted to promoting the recognition of fish as sentient beings deserving of respect and compassion. Despite fish constituting the largest category of animals used for food (including as farmed animal feed), and despite huge numbers of fish harmed for research, “sport,” and aquaria, their well-being receives very little attention, even from the animal protection community.
Fish Feel is an all-volunteer organization primarily serving to help educate the public as to why these animals are deserving of our admiration and appreciation, the immense problems caused by the exploitation of them, and how we can help them.
